What Are Superset Exercises?

Is your idea of strength training grabbing a light pair of weights and just randomly doing a few exercises? This is common for most women, so don’t feel alone. The problem is that you probably disapointed a bit by the results (or lack of them).

You’ve always been told not to go shopping without a list and you shouldn’t workout without a workout plan either. A proper fitness program is a series of exercises laid out in a planned order, not randomly thrown together exercises. Even if you have great exercises, if they are ordered poorly you could be holding yourself back.

Of all the different exercise routines and plans you can have for strength training, supersets are my favorite.

It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to burn body fat or increase your lean, sexy toned muscles, supersets work. To perform them, you have two exercises paired up. You do one right after the other with no rest. Then after you have finished the reps for the second move, you can rest before repeating the superset again for the sets you want.

The idea is that while you’re doing the second move your body can recover from the first so you can shorten rest times and create a more intense gym workout.

It is still really important though which exercises to pair. If you’re looking for a fat burning workout then it’s best to have an upper body exercise paired with a lower body move (or vice versa)… if it’s toning up you want then choose two similar body exercises.

Try out just one workout program that revolves around supersets, you will fall in love with them. After all, wouldn’t it be great to start a workout that actually makes changes.
