Supersets and Your Fitness Program

What’s your idea of strength training? Moving from exercise to exercise with no particular order in mind? This is the case for most women and unfortunately, it is probably safe to say you aren’t see big results either.

You shouldn’t go into a grocery store without a list and you shouldn’t walk into a gym without a workout plan. A proper fitness program is a series of exercises laid out in a planned order, not randomly thrown together exercises. Even if they were great exercises, if you have a bad layout you will suffer through.

There are several exercise routine options when creating a program, but my favorite for strength training are supersets.

Supersets are great for fat loss and muscle toning. To do a superset, you pair to exercises together, you move straight from the first to the second exercise with no rest. Then after you have finished the reps for the second move, you can rest before repeating the superset again for the sets you want.

While your doing the second exercise, your body is able to recover from the first. That means shorter rest periods for a more intense workout.

The pairing of the exercises is still vital for your goals. If you’re looking for a fat burning workout then it’s best to have an upper body exercise paired with a lower body move (or vice versa)… if it’s toning up you want then choose two similar body exercises.

Either way, you will love doing supersets. After all, wouldn’t it be great to start a workout that actually makes changes.
